It is a daunting task that God has given us to be a portrait of Christ and His bride, the church. How are you doing with that? It's a great mystery that we have tried to solve for decades!

Marriages that Minister will challenge you to think differently about your marriage. We are not talking about what can be accomplished by human effort. It is an invitation for you to participate in what is humanly impossible yet divinely possible.

Join us as we together weave to create a masterpiece marriage.

Marriages that Minister is not a step-by-step guide to making my marriage better or keeping my spouse happy. It centers on the often missed by vitally important aspect of my personal relationship with Christ.

The truths in this book challenged everything I had been taught or had ever see about marriage. AND it changed everything about the way I relate to my husband. It helped me to realize that when I am truly connected to Christ, He will empower me to accomplish HIS will for my marriage, NOT my own will. Truly understanding God’s design for marriage will radically change everything about your marriage, making it more God-centered and less me-centered.

I would 100% recommend this course, whether you are getting ready to be married or have been married for many years. Take this course and find God’s heart for your marriage —Jennifer

During this cohort I was challenged by seeing the many ways in which my flesh seeks to exalt self. I am often tempted and sometimes given to frustration and even anger over not being treated how I think I should be treated. God’s design for marriage stands in stark contrast to this self-serving ideal. Through this study the Lord continued to grow me through the truth that His design for marriage requires ministering, or serving, one another. Marriage is not about what I can get from my spouse, but rather how God can work through me to minister to my spouse to the praise of His glorious grace.

Because of the depth of teaching surrounding the how of ministering to my spouse, I would recommend this study to anyone who longs for a better marriage. This recommendation extends to those whose marriage is in crisis across the myriad of marital problems reaching even those who have a “good” marriage but long for more. Do not wait another day! Sign up today for a Marriages That Minister cohort with the expectation of God changing your heart so that you may more fully live out His plan for your life specific to marriage. —Kevin

It has taken a few weeks, as I have continued to process through this course, to determine my overarching takeaway. It was a bit overwhelming trying to take all of the treasures in that this course teaches about how to love our closest neighbor, our spouse, with Christ-like love. Through the journey of Marriages That Minister, the Lord has allowed me a glimpse of the value of my spouse based on His truth and not my own personal expectations of my spouse! To understand that we must see our spouses as the Lord does was a huge lightbulb moment for me.

I recommend this course to anyone who truly wants to learn to live out God’s design for their marriage relationship. Kirk and Melanie’s teaching helps to open our eyes to the beautiful privilege that we have in marriage to show the world the love of Christ! —Theresa

I took this course alone. At one point I thought that my husband would take it with me, but he only participated a few weeks. The first couple of weeks that I attended it alone, while still gaining insight from the materials and class discussions, I still held on to a bit of resentment in the back of my mind—thinking things like "my husband needs to hear this too"; "nothing will change if its only me that is trying"; etc. and so on. It's as if "I" wanted God to tell my husband all the things that "I" thought he was doing wrong or all the ways "I" thought he could do better. It did not take long for me to have a "come to Jesus" with myself (pun absolutely intended).

My focus wasn't in the right place and my perspective was skewed, and I was venting to the Lord about it all. He lovingly but rather directly held up a mirror in front of me and as I saw myself and my actions through God's eyes, I realized that there were a lot of "I's" and finger-pointing in my previous thought processes. I needed to focus on my personal relationship with Christ first and foremost. Then this amazing thing started happening. As I stopped focusing on my personal "happiness" and my husband's shortcomings, God filled the empty spaces in my heart, started soothing my hurts, building a more solid foundation for me to stand on, and empowering me to be more merciful, patient, and loving toward my husband in the meantime.

This book not only points to biblical principles that can be applied to my marriage, but to every relationship that I encounter.

If everything else that you have tried to strengthen your marriage has failed, I recommend that you take this course. It will give you an entirely different perspective—God lenses, if you will.

And if you're the only one in your marriage that is seeking the Lord's will and feeling desperate to learn how God can truly make a difference to your marriage... take it anyway... even if you do it alone. You will be blessed by the things that you learn and the wisdom and understanding that you gain. —Mindy
