Reviews

This class helped me to see the many different practical applications of scripture to my own life, in the context of learning to minister to others. And, realizing I must have a deeper understanding and dependence on God. I learned that I have no ability to help others unless I am foundationally secure and connected to God.

I would absolutely recommend this course to others, because we are asked to share with other believers' resources to help each other on this journey of life; learning how to make Christ relevant to all issues we face.

Anyone who is interested in loving others and helping others to see Jesus and being obedient to what Jesus tells us on how to counsel would benefit from taking this course. Even if you are not being led to be an official Biblical Church Counselor, the Lord is putting people in our lives that He wants us to Love and be in relationship with and to help; another way to point people to Christ.

Kirk and Melanie have developed a great curriculum including the videos that expound even deeper into each week's teaching. Role playing in the context of real-life counseling scenarios were challenging for me, but the ability to get feedback and Biblical answers to how to best help people was awesome. We learned how to resist the temptation to lean on our personal experiences and so-called wisdom, deferring instead to that which God tells us in the Bible (Prov 3:5). Every problem of life can be met with the solution in Jesus; in the Word of God. With a group of other class participants, it was good to see how each has different God given gifts to guide their role play of counseling.

This is an opportunity to be better equipped to share the Lord with others. –Tim

This counseling class has been instrumental to my understanding of how the Holy Spirit works in my life to speak the truth in love to others. Whether it is sharing the gospel truth to someone who does not know God, or helping others see where Christ is relevant to their struggles, this class helps to make sure you're pointing others to Jesus. This class is appropriate for not only those interested in using counseling within their ministry, but also how to have conversations with the people God puts in your life. –Meghan

This class helped to show me that I am capable of using my voice when speaking into the lives of other people through the power of the Holy Spirit rather than keeping quiet because of lack of confidence in what Christ is able to do through me. It also revealed issues in my own life as I was put into positions to counsel others dealing with the same issues I do or when being counseled on issues in my own life by others. This course also gave me tools and a framework to speak into the lives of others biblically.

I'd recommend this course to anyone who seeks to speak into the lives of their brothers and sisters in Christ and thus fulfill the "One Anothers" of scripture in this way. –David
