Marriages that Minister Counselor Cohort

Equipping Biblical Church Counselors to Minister to Marriages

Marriage isn't just a personal journey—it’s a spiritual battlefield. And as a Biblical Church Counselor, you're called to guide others through the war zones of disappointment, dysfunction, and disconnection with biblical truth and Christ-centered hope.

Marriages that Minister Counselor Cohort 403 equips you to do just that.

This Counselor Cohort will challenge and prepare you to walk with others as they discover that marriage is not about making one another happy—but about reflecting Christ’s love for His bride, the Church. Through mentorship, role-play, case studies, and biblical application, you’ll learn how to help others pursue the divinely possible: marriages that minister.

Whether you join us LIVE or follow the ON-DEMAND cohort path, you’ll gain the theological grounding, practical tools, and spiritual discernment needed to counsel couples in the context of biblical community.

Who Is This For?

This course is designed for those pursuing the Biblical Church Counselor training track, or for current counselors, pastors, and ministry leaders who desire to disciple couples in a Christ-centered way. Participants should be familiar with the iProcess framework (identity in Christ, intimacy with Christ, and industry for Christ).

What You’ll Gain

  • A biblical theology of marriage as a reflection of Christ and His Church
  • Practice in real-life application through case studies and simulated counseling sessions
  • Cohort-based support, feedback, and mentoring (LIVE or through guided reflection ON-DEMAND)
  • Insight into the spiritual and relational blocks that hinder healthy marriages
  • Skills to help couples adopt the iProcess as a path to growth and oneness
  • Certificate of Completion (for LIVE participants pursuing counselor training)

While learning this material for Biblical Church counseling, I was also learning how to apply this in my marriage. I struggled mightily! The Lord opened my eyes and heart to Kirk & Melanie’s teaching through Marriages That Minister and to the idea of connecting intimately with Christ, who enables my heart to produce His love for my spouse. The enemy would constantly try to have me look at all of the years that I had failed in my marriage to love my spouse with the genuine and authentic love of Christ.

It was a roller coaster ride of emotions, to say the least, but one that I would encourage you to take! The Lord has brought me to a place of rejoicing by helping me to see that Marriages That Minister teaches us God’s standards for marriage that will enable us to live out the privilege that it’s meant to be. This course has started me on a journey of how to discontinue applying my own standards to this beautiful relationship called marriage, which God designed to show His Son’s love to the world!

I recommend this course to anyone consistently frustrated, disappointed, resentful, and discouraged in their relationships with others. Marriages That Minister emphasizes the most crucial relationship that exists, our intimate and personal relationship with Christ, which makes all other relationships possible. —Theresa

Marriages that Minister is full of truths from God’s Word that will transform your heart and mind. Throughout this course of learning to use these tools to help others grow, I have become more solidified in my identity in Christ and have thus grown in my walk with Him. Because these truths have made such an impact on my life, I find that I am passionate to share them with others. This course has given me the tools to be able to do this. Not only will this course change the way you relate to God and others, but it will also give you exactly what you need to encourage others to grow in Christ. The Marriages That Minister Counselor Cohort brings tangible experience to this truth, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2Cor. 1:3-4 NASB) Giving godly counsel to someone whose marriage needs God’s comfort is only possible through experiencing God’s comfort within the various trials of one’s own marriage. Seeing the hurt in someone’s life and having a strong desire to help demands we have a practical understanding of God’s design for marriage. This understanding flows from having experienced God’s comfort within the crucible of marital trials. Oh, the blessings that come from finding how God’s truth, applied to our lives in the midst of trial, brings in peace!! It is the experience of His grace and peace that equips and compels us to help others in need. If you have experienced the grace and peace of God on this level in your marriage and long to share it with others, then this cohort is must! However, you should be prepared for the Lord to challenge and grow your practical understanding of marriage in the process. I often found myself struggling to understand and apply to my life the very thing God was leading me to share as the solution to crisis in someone else’s life. All praise to our merciful and gracious God whose love never fails!! —Kevin
