👥 What Is the iProcess LIVE Counselor Cohort?

iProcess Class 402 is an 8-week mentored training cohort designed to equip you with the biblical understanding, practical tools, and spiritual confidence needed to walk with others through the process of transformation in Christ.

Built on the framework of identity in Christ, intimacy with Christ, and industry for Christ, this course takes you deeper—preparing you not just to grow personally, but to lead others with clarity, conviction, and compassion.

Through interactive mentoring, role-plays, group dialogue, and real-world case studies, you'll gain hands-on experience in biblical church counseling rooted in God’s Word and the heart of Christ.

🎯 Course Goal

To develop and equip Biblical Church Counselors to guide others in embracing their identity in Christ, deepening intimacy with Him, and living with purposeful industry—through the practice of live mentoring and counseling simulation.

1. Guide others to discover their identity in Christ using biblical principles and case studies
2. Foster intimacy with Christ in those you counsel by applying truth with compassion

After you have read each week's assigned readings, watched the videos, and attended the iProcess Class Cohort, we are sure you will have issues and insights to discuss. Bring them to the group, and let's talk about how you can help others find Christ relevant to their lives!

Meet your teachers: Kirk and Melanie Lewis

J. Kirk Lewis and Melanie D. Lewis are passionate shepherds of the soul who believe that lasting change begins with a right understanding of God and ourselves. Together, they co-founded Desperately Dependent Community, a Christ-centered ministry devoted to encouraging Christian leaders and training compassionate caregivers in the art of biblical church counseling.

With years of pastoral and counseling experience, Kirk and Melanie have walked with countless individuals through the highs and lows of faith, always pointing them back to the unshakable foundation of identity in Christ. Their teaching is marked by theological depth, relational warmth, and a sincere commitment to helping others experience Christ as truly relevant to every area of life.

The iProcess has been beneficial from the counselor perspective while also learning the iProcess as a student. To learn that our identity is lost without being complete in Christ (Day 1.1-iProcess) has allowed me to be a bit more perceptive with people that the Lord places in my path. During this course I have been able through the iProcess to spot an identity crisis pretty quickly into our case studies. Having talked through different scenarios each week applying what we studied of the iProcess for each particular week has helped prepare me for conversations and interactions with people who are struggling with finding their identity in Christ.

I think my favorite chapter from the counselor perspective is chapter 7. God is working. I am to co-labor with God (Day 7.3-iProcess). This chapter is eye opening for those of us who are beginning to realize that God has a special plan and purpose for each of our lives and that our lives belong to Him. We are all ambassadors for Christ!

"God is working in and through me to accomplish His purposes. As I co-labor with Him, I must sacrifice my will to fulfill His plans"(Day 7.3-iProcess). In this counselor cohort class, it has been a joy to realize that I am exercising the iProcess in finding my identity in Christ, connecting my heart intimately with Him and co-laboring with Him in industry to share Him with others!

During the 402 Counselor Cohort, I learned many things essential to giving wise biblical counsel. The one thing that continues to resonate with me is that biblical counseling is the fruit of living the iProcess. It is compelled industry forged in an intimate identity. Knowing who Christ is tells me who I am or gives me my identity. Being solidified in this identity, moves me to connect intimately with Christ. As I connect intimately with Christ, I am compelled to share HIM with others, a.k.a. give counsel as to how Christ makes the difference in any and every situation encountered during this earthly sojourn. Wise counsel then comes through me from Christ as he works in me to accomplish his will.

The iProcess Counselor Cohort was such an informative class, which would be useful for those pursuing a career as a biblical counselor. This class offers many tools to help you help others. But you do not have to be pursuing a biblical counselor certification to make use of this class. We all have those whom God puts in our path for a reason. This class provides the basics to help those people understand who God says they are. This is crucial to our understanding of our purpose in life. I highly recommend this Cohort to anyone who mentors anyone.
